RegScanner Review - A Review of a Free Application
The first screen you'll see when you launch RegScanner is the Options dialog box. Here you can choose search parameters and see the results of your Registry scan. You can also view the registry contents by filtering the results based on data size, base key type, and time. You can also jump to any specific registry value. You can even export search results to a file or clipboard. If you want to perform advanced registry search on your PC, you'll need to purchase an additional license.
Another useful feature is the ability to run the application via command line. If you're unable to run RegScanner using the GUI, you can specify the command line to run it. Another handy feature is the ability to scan a remote computer and export the results in CSV and HTML format. If you're not comfortable editing Windows registry files, RegScanner is an excellent option. Besides scanning the registry, it can also delete corrupted files.
The search options in RegScanner are very useful. You can specify the time frame in which the registry changes, the base key, and even the type of Registry. Besides, you can also choose to view only changes to the registry within the past ten days. A handy feature in RegScanner is that it also shows the values of the searched keys. You can choose to view the entire registry or just select a specific key to analyze.
